Last weekend the fifth and sixth act of the Assoluti d’Italia di Enduro took place in Darfo Boario Terme. Unfortunately, bad weather affected the race and the Extreme Special test was canceled during both days of the race. On Saturday the organizers canceled the first step in Cross Test 2 and then decided to shorten it considerably. The same fate also for Cross Test 1 which suffered small cuts on both days of competition. Our riders, Joe Wootton and Ruy Barbosa, ran an excellent race and our English rider at the end of a demanding weekend got on the podium in the Foreigners class, third classified, but above all he won the third place in the prestigious Overall. On the opening day Joe Wootton ran an exemplary race, recording the overall best time in Cross Test 1 twice. Thanks also to excellent times on all the other special tests, the English rider at the end of the day won the third place overall and in the Foreigners class. Also on the following day of racing, Joe Wootton was confirmed as one of the best riders of the overall and set several excellent times in all special tests. At the end of the day, thanks to the fourth place obtained, Joe Wootton conquered the lowest step of the podium of the Overall and also of the Foreigners class. Good performance also for Ruy Barbosa in Darfo Boario Terme, the Chilean rider on Day One was very erratic, alternating excellent times with trivial errors that ousted him from the fight for the top positions. On Sunday Ruy Barbosa crashed to the ground in the first passage in the Cross Test, losing a few minutes. Ruy Barbosa then immediately resumed the race without risking any further.
