This weekend Team JET-Zanardo faced the opening round of the Enduro World Championship in Dahlen, Germany, with tens of thousands of spectators along the 65 km route to repeat three times a day, for a total of twenty-five special tests. Before the off a great novelty: besides Ruy Barbosa and Joe Wootton, also the two-time World Champion Giacomo Redondi will join the World Championship with the Husqvarna FE 450 racing in the E2 class. Back from the States a few weeks ago, Redondi was among the rulers of the GP. He got a good fifth position on Saturday, winning one special test and finishing all the others always in the top ten. On Sunday, however, while he was fourth he was forced to the withdraw one km before the finish because of the breaking of the gearbox shaft after he hit a rock. Ruy Barbosa made his debut in the Junior World Championship with the Husqvarna FE 350: on Saturday he finished seventh, while on Sunday he improved his times by finishing fourth. In the E2 class Joe Wootton finished 11th on Saturday and 6th on Sunday, close to the top five. Next competition is the second round of the Italian Championships, scheduled on 31st March in Arma di Taggia, near Imperia.
